She’ll bring exotic African bulbs for
sale. UCI botanical garden is free, open Saturday 10-3, and is very easy to find,
at the corner of Jamboree and Campus. They have a cactus garden right at the
entrance, and have recently redone their African Bulb Garden, and Native Plant
Garden. They also have a premier Aloe garden which should be blooming now.
Look on their website for their annual bulb, orchid and native plant sales. |

some of his home grown fruit. He is one of the potters who had spring pot
sales, along with member Joe Wujcik, at Woody Minnich’s Cactus Data Plants
in Lancaster. Mark gave a talk several years ago that was fabulous. |

Gene is a very experienced grower, who starts many hard to find, rare cactus
from seed. This talk will be about “Seeds planting and Propagation”. We have
had grafting talks and seed swaps previously, and these were some of the most
interesting meetings. Gene and others will most likely bring extra seeds and
show us how to start them.

business and showed us the Silverswords of Hawaii years ago, plus the
Singapore Botanical Garden, and has other talks such as Nong Nooch Botanical
Garden. Jerry has written scientific papers on photosynthesis in window plants
such as Haworthia, Lithops and Conophytums. Should be a great talk.

will include slides of over 20 species of cacti and succulents at White Sands National Monument,
Jarilla Mountains, and Culp Canyon areas of New Mexico. Close-ups of plants, many in bloom as well as
area shots with density of species marked and compared over an 8 year period. |
